BUZZ marketing defined, according to Google, is - “Buzz marketing is a viral marketing technique that is focused on maximizing the word-of-mouth potential of a particular campaign or product.” Media attention is gained by arranging an event that is uncommon and results in people talking about it. Sometimes, this method of marketing is even less expensive than regular advertising. BUZZ marketing generates word-of-mouth advertising and excitement. In the real estate industry, there are many opportunities to create a BUZZ. People who research products online, tend to buy big-ticket items at a higher rate than others and they like to talk about their research. About half of those researchers will give advice on what they found. They become more knowledgeable and therefore, eager to share information. Because they are likely to tell a friend about their experience, they become a building block for viral marketing efforts. Because the definition of BUZZ is “getting people to talk about your business”, a real estate agent, basically has to give somebody something to talk about.

Here are a few suggestions for getting the BUZZ launched:

Throw a party disguised as an open house that is done with a cause in mind. Give your event a compassionate purpose. Use the open house/party as an opportunity to give back to your community. Make it a food drive for a local food pantry or partner it with the local fire or police department’s cause. Having a fire truck at your party for the children. These events create Buzz throughout the entire community, all ages and all types. More than the normal numbers of open house attendees will certainly be achieved! Convert renters into home buyers by offering Buying Workshops. Address the things that confuse and concern first time buyers. Hold the workshops at a local coffee shop or restaurant where the attendees can buy snacks and drinks. This creates a much more casual and less classroom like atmosphere. Schedule these workshops frequently because word of mouth, or BUZZ, will be contagious, especially if the presentation is fun, casual and full of good food! Seasonal Marketing is BUZZ all year Long.
