Website Tips

June 20, 2017

Having a website is your brochure. It is your resume. It is the overview of your business, of you and your future. It is like having a business card at a business meeting. It provokes interest and then it should entice to look further. But you still need to tell the world how to get to your website!

Your website is one of your most powerful marketing tools that you can have. But, are you using it to it’s full potential? Position your website for success by promoting your business and connecting with prospects morning, noon and night. The following is a list of some places that you should be advertising your site to make sure you are giving it the brightest spotlight!

Business cards

Be ready with a stack of business cards! People look at your business card for specific information...how to contact you! Make sure the quickest points of contact are the largest pieces of information on the card next to your name, cell phone number, email address, your website, and phone number. Even include instagram, facebook, twitter and linkedin addresses on your card.

Pens

Have pens made with your website address on them. Take them (and leave them) everywhere. Give them to everyone you know.

Give Away Cool Stuff

You don’t have to stop at pens! Key holders, umbrellas, recyclable grocery bags, visors, measuring tapes, lighters, magnets, household clips, screw drivers and flash lights are just a few things that you can have your name, phone number and website printed on!

Signs

Make sure that your website address appears on every sign that you put out there. For Sale, Sale Pending and Just Sold should have your name, phone number and website in the design. Someone driving by wants ALL of your information.

Facebook page

Facebook and your large following is a direct path to your website. Include the address in postings and pictures. Include it in your cover photo and in your profile. People will want to click through and learn more.

Twitter

You can add a link to your website in your Twitter profile. Unless you are using a one or two word posting, you may have room to add your address in the 140 characters too!

Pinterest

Make sure your website address appears on your profile and on your pin pictures. Just like Facebook and Twitter, people are going to want to click through for more information. Pinterest is a perfect place for agents to share information as it is a site that people are LOOKING for information!

Instagram

There is only one space for one link to a website on Instagram. Make sure it is filled out!

LinkedIn

If you have a company page and a personal profile, make sure to add your website to both. For company pages, it’s in the company overview. For individual profiles it’s in your contact information.

Google+ page

Google+ allows lots of connections in specific categories of interest. It also allows you to add lots of different addresses and personal information.

Blog

If you write a blog, make sure that you sign off with your website address. When you comment on other bloggers’ blogs, put your address in your comments local publications and industry magazines. Include your domain in your byline.

Print ads

Listing ads in your local paper or online classifieds should include your website address.

Link to Directories

Add your website address as links to these directories. This will improve your site’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO), gradually improving your website’s ranking on search results.
