Direct Mailing Ideas

Designing a Direct Mail package should be approached as something that recipients will find interesting and useful and that they will want to keep. Instead of the usual mundane “just the facts” type of mailer, consider sending Direct Mail about food, or the arts, entertainment or sports and the outdoors. If it's good, recipients will hang on to it.

Think of the piece that you send to a possible prospect as the first piece of Direct Mail that they get as something they put right up on their refrigerator. Then you send another and they do the same thing! If you put real creative effort into your direct mail and turn it into something that recipients will find useful, they will keep it. The Mailer might require a little bit of research, imagination and extra effort on your part, but if people are hanging on to your Direct Mailer and posting it where they can easily refer back to it, then your marketing strategy is working.

Here are a few ideas to make a Direct Mailer a real keeper!

Send a list of restaurants in a particular neighborhood. Design the Mailer to Include a map, delivery information and phone numbers. Consider including top-ranked restaurants. Ice-cream parlors, pizza, and sub shops. Create a second Mailer that list the breakfast restaurants and coffee shops in the neighborhood. Best family restaurants, great romantic restaurants, donut shops, and specialty restaurants are all different subject matters to design for the Direct Mailer that goes on the refrigerator.

Potato salad in the summertime and chicken soup during cold season are recipes that are popular. Popular for the kitchen are conversion charts and substitute lists to post where it’s easy to see.
