Ahhhh Facebook! The hub of all things social! Facebook is so much more that just posting a funny comment or two, adding a bright colored background or getting people to “LIKE” you. Facebook is actually fairly complicated. There are lots of tricks for getting yourself noticed and for interacting with other members. Here are a few tips for your Facebook business page

The "About" section of your Facebook Home page is where people go first to find out what you are all about. This is the place you tell your story. History, philosophy, interests and theme should all be included very briefly in this section. People like to “look you over” before they decide to LIKE your page!

The "Milestones" feature lets you highlight some of your business's biggest accomplishments. Awards, events, newspaper write ups and new product releases are all things that can go on the Milestone list and these will be featured on your timeline.

Tabs come automatically and are set as timeline, about, photos, likes and more. These are at the top of your page and under the “More” name, a drop down list appears and you can rearrange the tabs. If you are trying to promote a special event, you can move the tabs around so that Events appears first. You can also create custom tabs by going to the “manage tabs” label and writing in the name of your new category.

There is one secret that everyone seems to think they have found with successful posting and that is the best time to make a post. There have been lots of analyzation, charts, and diagrams made on this subject but, different businesses may find different days and times work best for them. If you have a narrow audience and know them well, you can probably calculate the timethey would be active. But for most, it is about the content and the message. There is a bit of data that does come up on a regular basis that says the best time to post is 3:00pm on Wednesday. Then there is between 12 and 1 on Saturdays and Sundays and 1 to 4 on Thursdays and Fridays. Data should be compiled on the basis of your own experience and you should always be experimenting with the time of day, the day of the week and the mood in the world.

If you write a blog, make sure you post on your business page. Social media continues to be driven by content. It's important to post content that's interesting, entertaining, helpful, and/or relevant to the audience. You will be found easier if you also use hashtags using the most important subjects from your blog.

You receive three times more engagement on Facebook if you use pictures. Posting compelling visual content is one of the most important things you can do to improve your Facebook strategy. A successful event or campaign will include photos, videos, and infographics or other graphs. It's important that your visual content be compelling and relevant to your audience.

Facebook Insights is the internal analytics tool that helps you measure and analyze your Facebook presence. The tool provides analytical data about page visits and engagement, which can help you understand which content is and isn't engaging to your fans. By clicking the 'Admin Panel' on your page, you can find all of the graphs and numbers that shows the insights.

The Follow Button lets you increase your reach by making it easy for your visitors to also Like your business page. Your page has a section where it will display the number of Likes and Follows that you have gained.

The Facebook Like Button lets people Like your content. When a user Likes a piece of content, it shows up in your friends' news feeds because the algorithm takes it as a signal your friends will find it relevant.

The Facebook Share Button allows someone to share your content on THEIR timeline and it will then show up in THEIR friends' news feeds. People can also comment of the share as a part of the content.
